We offer a true break in beautiful Languedoc-Roussillon with a comfortable and private 4-bedroom villa (6-8 pers.), 5-10 mins from the impressive medieval Cit\u00e9 of Carcassonne – yet away from the crowds -, the picturesque Canal du Midi and the plentiful vineyards.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a comfortable bathroom with a full bath, a separate Italian shower, and a WC. An additional WC is available by the hallway. The sleeping part of the house is slightly separated from the living area, so children can sleep in peace while adults enjoy their own space.<\/span><\/p>\n

The large living room and the dining area have direct access to the fully equipped kitchen. It includes a fridge\/freezer, oven, combi microwave oven, dishwasher, coffee machines and all the utensils and dishes you could hope for.<\/p>\n

For your entertainment, you have access to a TV with French free channels, Netflix built into the decoder, and a DVD player with a selection of DVDs.\u00a0Free wi-fi is available.<\/p>\n

Private south facing garden<\/h1>\n

Magic life at Au Berg is all about the outdoors. The large garden is secluded, boarded with trees and offers a fabulous view over the hill to the south. Gorgeous sunsets to be had! There is loads of terrace space for eating and relaxing by the generous-size private pool (11m x 5m).<\/p>\n

A good BBQ and a ping pong table are also available for more outside fun.<\/p>\n

Ample parking space is available on the domaine.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s plenty of beautiful exploring to do in this South of France region full of Cathar castles, cute village markets and excellent restaurants, not to mention the odd vineyard.<\/p>\n

Also close-by is the huge Cavay\u00e8re park with its lake, sandy beach, and parcours accrobranche; the challenging Carcassonne golf and the best of all – La Cit\u00e9<\/p>\n

The Canal du Midi<\/strong><\/h1>\n

What stole our heart is the beautiful 240km long\u00a0Canal du Midi<\/a>\u00a0originally named the Canal royal en Languedoc. It was designed and built by\u00a0Pierre-Paul Riquet<\/span> in the 17th century to connect the Atlantic with the Mediterranean on French soil \u2013 thus avoiding having to deal with British and Portuguese warships. It is a truly amazing piece of architecture and <\/span>offers a very pleasant environment for shady walks, typical local restaurants whilst watching the slowly gliding barges<\/span>.\u00a0There are many <\/span>interesting <\/span>ports<\/span> (with locks\/\u00e9cluses)<\/span> to visit along the Canal<\/span>, <\/span>one<\/span> of the more <\/span>impressive is<\/span> the <\/span>eight-lock \u201cescalier\u201d<\/span> at\u00a0B\u00e9ziers<\/span>, our favorite ones in Homps and l\u2019\u00e9cluse de l\u2019Aiguille in Puich\u00e9ric<\/span>, <\/span>and, even <\/span>nearer to<\/span> home<\/span>, <\/span>pretty <\/span>Tr<\/span>\u00e8<\/span>bes and Carcassonne <\/span>ports. <\/span><\/p>\n

Renting Au Berg<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Au Berg is available for rent at 1600\u20ac\/week in July-August. We offer a discount of 25% on the 2nd week if you want to enjoy a proper stay, as well as for other times of year.<\/p>\n

Our price includes bedding, kitchen and bath towels.<\/p>\n

Local shops (supermarket, baker\u2019s, butcher\u2019s, pizzeria, etc.) are within walking distance. There is also a gastronomic restaurant in the village.<\/p>\n

We provide further information on local wine and restaurants once your booking is confirmed so that you can enjoy a pleasant and relaxing stay in Au Berg.<\/p>\n
